So...I have not yet received my authorization to test. This is a email notification saying that I can go ahead and schedule my NCLEX-RN test. I am supposed to have this at a specific date for my job or I will be terminated. I called a week ago to the Texas Board of Nursing to find out what was the hold up. They said that they were still in the process of completing my background check. I called again yesterday to find out that my background check is now completed, but it may still be up to 9 business days before I receive my authorization to test. As fate would have it, the 9th business day in this little scenario falls on the exact day that I must have my authorization for work. Hopefully, the authorization will come before the last day, but I have heard that the Board of Nursing is not my friend. So, what can I learn from all of this?
1. Submit my application earlier next time (of course hopefully there will not be a next time; I hope I only have to take this test once!)
2. Be patient (which is very hard to do considering I may get fired if I do not have this on time!)
3. Trust in God (I know that God is taking care of me, and I feel like he gave me this job for a reason. What I don't know is why all of this is happening. Maybe God is showing me that I must learn to be patient and reminding me to lean on Him alone in times of trial.)
Whatever happens, I know the Lord will take care of me. I have been praying for God to bless me in this endeavor and allow things to happen as planned. I hope that this situation is quickly resolved so that I can begin to tell the stories and adventures of my NNICU experience.
